Meet JoAnn, an Integrative Counselor Bridging Mind, Body, and Wellness for lasting Mental Health JoAnn is deeply passionate about supporting people in their personal & professional endeavors. For 25 years, she worked in education, 20 of those years she was a School Counselor, with a special populations. Seamlessly JoAnn moved into private practice, primarily seeing adult clients. She is also an advocate in community risk reduction, supporting the well-being of first responders, nurses, active duty military personnel & their families. In December of 2020, JoAnn completed an Advanced Nutritional & Integrative Medicine for Mental Health Professionals. This certification supports a whole body approach to mental health disorders, utilizing multiple fields of medicine & nutritional sciences. In October of 2024, she obtained a certification in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. JoAnn is partnered with the medical team at Journey Clinical in order to jointly provide KAP to clients. The medical portion of KAP appointments are billed separately through Journey Clinical JoAnn utilizes an integrated nutrition and counseling approach that recognizes the deep interconnection between physical and mental well-being. Treatment begins with building a trusting relationship and conducting a comprehensive intake to understand the client's patterns, lifestyle, and goals. With the client input she uses scaffolding to break down large goals into small, manageable steps, empowering clients to achieve lasting well-being.. Simultaneously exploring the root cause of underlying issues and promoting awareness of thoughts and behaviors. She has developed a strong professional focus and personal commitment to first responders, veterans, active duty service members, and their families. JoAnn’s foundation is built on 18 years of experience working with a specialized population. She successfully adapted these skills to counsel an adult population of first responders and active duty personnel. JoAnn's combination of certification and experiences, assist patients to regain mental wellness. This overarching goal emphasizes the restoration of mental health and stability. Through individualized assessments she tailors treatment plans to the specific needs of each client, ensuring a personalized approach. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is the foundation of her counseling modality. It is complemented by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), Exposure Therapy and other wellness interventions like nutritional counseling including being metabolic psychiatric informed. JoAnn is currently licensed in New York, New Jersey, Florida, South Carolina, Connecticut & Delaware.
