Introduction

I'm glad you found me! My practice is designed around professionalism, availability and experience. I have over 30 years of experience with helping clients who feel stuck, by providing a wider lens from which to view their struggles. I have training in Bowen Family Systems Theory and Attachment Theory and help clients be more curious about their struggles by viewing themselves and others from a systemic view. What doesn't make sense logically, always makes sense by viewing one's emotional, historical and relational past. We won't blame parents. We will explore how your history impacts, informs and illuminates your thoughts, feelings and behaviors as an adult. I work with adults and couples with issues around mood regulation, relationship struggles, communication, co-dependency and better understanding the impact of having grown up in a troubled family environment. Professional growth in work/business life can also be a topic to address in therapy with me. I limit the number of clients I see each day and don't schedule appointments back to back. That allows us some flexibility in case our session goes longer and it promotes good mental health for your therapist! Typically, I am able to schedule an appointment within 24-48 hours of your call and our sessions are a full 60 minutes. You will have access to me directly by phone or email, even on weekends. I do not accept insurance which allows us more freedom to address underlying themes, stop endless arguments that go nowhere and explore and recognize patterns in your thoughts, feelings and behaviors that are not effective. Insurance companies require that you be given a mental health (DSM-5) diagnosis in order for them to "authorize" therapy. Couples therapy is not a covered benefit unless a mental health diagnosis is assigned to one of you. My fee for service model allows us to work together without being restricted by the insurance company. If my approach seems like a good "fit", send me an email or call and we can schedule a no-cost 30 minute phone call or in person session. Experience the value of my experience!
