I have been practicing for decades with a wide range of clients, but now I primarily focus on individual adults and elder adults facing issues of anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and/or trauma. While I am culturally aware, I am particularly sensitive to the issues facing college students, veterans, and first responders. The client and I work together to formulate a treatment plan. I use the therapy model that best fits the issue(s) being presented, the time-frame surrounding the issue, the client's preferences, and what is mutually determined to be the best approach at the moment. I generally start with CBT (trauma-informed if appropriate) and then transition into others if the issue is long-term, ie. Schema Therapy or Psychodynamic. What is most important is the client.
