My name is Jon Bowles and I am a licensed MFT in Kansas City. I began my practice, Pursuing Wholeness, in 2025 after graduating with an MFT degree. My pathway to becoming an LMFT is unique in that I went back to school to start this practice after becoming an empty nester. I spent most of my vocational career pastoring a church I started way back in 2001. Once our home became an "empty nest" with my children at college, I realized I wanted to use my new free time to go back to school and build on my love of listening to people and helping them tell (and live) a more whole story. I enjoy helping people in their journey of becoming whole, acknowledging that all of us are broken. It's a privilege to help with things that sometimes get us stuck like anxiety, depression, and the myriads of relationship issues we may encounter on the way. As a pastor for over thirty years, I am well acquainted with the kind of wounds and hurts that the church can, usually unknowingly, inflict upon us. I consider myself in a unique and prime position to provide comfort and guidance for these hurts that can infect so deeply. I offer Pursuing Wholeness as a soft place for people struggling with deep wounding of all kinds to land and begin the process of gentle reflection. I hope to meet you soon!
