My name is Jordan Blue, I am a counseling intern pursuing a Master’s degree at Liberty University for Marriage Family Counseling. I am passionate about assisting individuals and families who are navigating through challenges. Specifically, I enjoy helping others interpret and process their emotions I chose to pursue counseling after developing a deeper understanding of the importance of mental health. Through my personal experiences and my own time in therapy, I began to recognize the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My experience taught that the challenges we face, and the behaviors we display, are influenced by the environment we grew up in. Witnessing the impact that therapy can have inspired me to pursue a path where I could help others better understand themselves, and their experiences. I am particularly interested in approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This approach focuses on how thoughts, feelings and actions impact one another. I believe increasing awareness of these patterns can help individuals develop healthier ways of thinking, and a better response to the challenges they face in their day-to-day life. As a counseling intern, my goal is to create a calm, supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences. I push to assist clients in establishing tools they can apply outside of our sessions so they can continue benefiting from the work we do together in their everyday lives. My mission as a counselor is to empower clients with strategies that support long-term growth, perseverance, and emotional wellbeing
