To be honest, I never planned to become a psychiatric NP; it kind of found me. I originally wanted to be a firefighter and spent 5 years as an EMT. Everything shifted when I firtst worked alongside a male veteran RN who showed me that nursing was more than what I'd assumed. I enrolled in nursing school, and little did I know I'd graduate right in time for the COVID trenches. I started my RN career in COVID ICUs at Antelope Valley Hospital and the emergency department at LAC+USC Medical Center, where I saw firsthand how broken mental healthcare can be and how deeply trauma, burnout, and physical health are connected. Now, as a Board-Certified PMHNP, I offer psychiatric care that treats the whole person: therapy, medication when appropriate, and evidence-based approaches including supplements, ketamine for treatment-resistant depression, and mindfulness-based integrative therapy. I specialize in ADHD, anxiety, depression, and PTSD, especially for first responders and healthcare workers who understand what it's like on the front lines. My approach is collaborative, bilingual (English/Spanish), and judgment-free.
