Introduction

Joshua is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) based in San Diego, California. Joshua works with adults, teens, seniors, and couples, supporting clients navigating depression, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, childhood trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, inner conflict, and relationship distress. He is committed to creating a compassionate, collaborative environment where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to pursue meaningful, lasting change. Joshua earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Biola University. His clinical background includes working with individuals, couples, families, children, and clients from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds, allowing him to thoughtfully tailor treatment to each person's unique experiences, values, and goals. Joshua takes a client-centered, systems-oriented approach to therapy, helping clients explore the deeper patterns that influence their emotions, relationships, and sense of self. He integrates evidence-based and insight-oriented modalities including Psychodynamic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed therapy, Inner Child Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, Restoration Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, Joshua works collaboratively with clients to identify the root causes of emotional distress and foster lasting internal transformation. Joshua believes that healing begins with greater self-awareness, authentic connection, and compassion for oneself. His goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients can process difficult experiences, strengthen relationships, and build the confidence and resilience needed to move forward with greater clarity and purpose.
