I was born in Colorado and grew up in the suburbs of Denver. After high school, I spent almost three years volunteering in a diverse array of communities and capacities before finally deciding to enroll in college to study to become a therapist. As a college student at Metropolitan State University of Denver, I developed a passion for psychological science and graduated with my B.A. in Psychology in 2012. As a college student, running and counseling were important parts of overcoming my challenges with depression and a learning disability. After college, I moved to Chicago for graduate school and fell in love with the city and its people before earning my doctorate in clinical psychology in 2017. In 2018, I started Tenacity Psychological Services with the goal of creating a practice that puts people (e.g. clients, staff, therapists, and trainees) above profits and power. As a practice, we pride ourselves in serving a diverse array of clients and not turning away clients based strictly on their insurance coverage or financial means.
