Introduction

Hello, I'm Joyce. I began my career as a respiratory therapist, after my father passed away from lung cancer where I spent many years caring for people facing serious illness, grief, and life-changing diagnoses. I felt called to deepen my ability to help people heal emotionally as well as physically. Throughout my years in healthcare, I found that patients often shared their deepest struggles with me, and I realized I wanted the time, training, and opportunity to help them process those hurts—not just treat physical symptoms. That experience shaped my belief that our emotional and physical health are deeply connected. Anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and chronic stress often affect both the mind and body, and true healing involves caring for the whole person. I continued my education to become a licensed mental health counselor. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and my Master's Degree in Counseling from Colorado Christian University and am licensed in both Florida and Colorado. I work with individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, family conflict, life transitions, attachment wounds, blended family challenges, and self-esteem concerns. My approach is warm, collaborative, and evidence-based. I integrate EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method for couples, attachment-based therapy, cognitive behavioral strategies, mindfulness, and other effective approaches to help client.
