I believe in being a human first, then a therapist, then using specific models of therapy to meet your needs. This means that I bring my genuine, real self into the therapy room. Those who know me best describe me as warm, supportive, a harbinger of safety, a fierce advocate, authentic, and loving. If you work with me, you will come to learn that I also have a deep appreciation for a little irreverence, well placed pop culture references, sharing memes and saying “it me”, dropping expletives for dramatic emphasis, music as a love language, and dark humor as a load bearing coping strategy. As a clinician for more than 15 years, I practice through Humanistic, Relational, Systems, and Trauma-Focused lenses. I hold unconditional positive regard for my clients and believe fully in their inherent goodness, dignity, autonomy, and capacity for growth. I also deeply value the centrality of human relationships. While it’s true that we are often hurt in relationship, we also heal those hurts in safe relationship to self and others. None of us is an island, and together we will consider the impact of the systems and relationships you live within. I will work with your nervous system to establish a deep sense of safety, prioritizing consistency, transparency, predictability, and collaboration in the therapeutic relationship. By using a combination of approaches, I can support you holistically in gaining a better understanding of your wants, needs, motivations, and next steps to building - or re-building - a life you are excited to live.
