Julia Spenadel, LPCC, ATR-P is the owner and psychotherapist of Julia Spenadel Counseling and Art Therapy. She works with individuals and couples, supporting clients in navigating anxiety, neurodivergence, PTSD, and relationship challenges. I began my career as a makeup artist, helping people express themselves outwardly, but felt called to support people on a deeper level. That path led me to art therapy, where self-expression, mindfulness, and compassion intersect. Many of my clients feel that the world doesn’t fit the way their brain or nervous system works, or that their relationships are strained by chronic stress, misattunement, or unmet needs. My approach is warm, supportive, and trauma-informed. I use a mix of practical tools and reflective approaches to help people better understand their thoughts, emotions, and internal responses. In both individual and couples therapy, I don’t see people as “broken.” Instead, therapy is about finding what actually works for where you are right now. Sessions are a place to slow down, notice patterns, and better understand yourself and, for couples, how you show up together in the relationship. Sessions may include talking, art-making, and noticing what is happening in the body. When words are hard to find, art and metaphor can offer a safer way to explore emotions, regulate the nervous system, and foster deeper connection. Living with ADHD myself, I use approaches that honor different ways of learning and relating, helping clients feel grounded, emotionally connected, and more authentic in their lives and relationships. *Please note that although I utilize parts-work and address sex-related topics in treatment, I do not hold formal certification as an IFS practitioner or sex therapist.* OFFICE LOCATION: 5353 W Dartmouth Ave. Ste #305 Denver, CO 80227
