Introduction

Julia Spenadel, LPCC, ATR-P is the owner and psychotherapist of Julia Spenadel Counseling and Art Therapy. She works with individuals and couples, supporting clients in navigating anxiety, neurodivergence, PTSD, and relationship challenges. If you often feel the world wasn’t built for the way your brain or nervous system works, or that your relationships are strained by frustration and misattunement, I am here to help you navigate those challenges. Living with ADHD myself, I provide a neuro-affirming space that honors your unique way of thinking and relating. I believe that everyone is doing the best they can with the tools they have; Sometimes, we just need to find the tools that fit best for you. My path to this work began as a makeup artist, where I helped people express themselves outwardly. While I loved that connection, I felt called to support people on a deeper level. This led me to art therapy, a space where self-expression, mindfulness, and compassion intersect. My approach is warm and trauma-informed, blending practical skills with reflective exploration. Whether you are coming in as an individual or a couple, our sessions are a place to slow down, notice patterns, and foster a more authentic connection to yourself and others. We may talk, create art, or simply tune in to what the body is feeling. I find that when words are difficult to express, art and metaphor offer a safer, more intuitive way to explore emotions and regulate the nervous system. If you’re ready to see how art therapy can help you feel more grounded and at home in your own mind, reach out today to schedule a free consultation. Please note: Due to current caseload capacity, new Friday appointments are available on a bi-weekly basis. Online sessions remain available weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
