Julie Hyatt, MS, LMFT, is a couples therapist based in Chicago. She works with clients both in-person in Hyde Park (near the University of Chicago) and online with couples throughout Illinois. Julie holds a master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy, giving her a strong understanding of the complex systems that shape relationships—not just training in a single model of therapy like Gottman or EFT. For more than a decade, Julie has helped couples strengthen their emotional connection, communicate more effectively, and rebuild trust after painful experiences such as infidelity or recurring intense conflict. She helps partners to integrate their parenting differences, navigate challenges with extended family including in-laws, and break free from reactive cycles that keep them feeling stuck. When couples are uncertain about whether to stay together or separate, Julie helps them understand what’s happened in their relationship and gain clarity and confidence in their path forward. Julie is direct, but gentle. She's known for having sessions that include both tears and laughter. She believes that with the right skills and emotional support, couples can deepen their understanding of one another and find new ways to connect, even in difficult moments, and that even amidst life's stress and strife, couples can find comfort and meaning in a connected and loving relationship. Julie offers a brief consultation before scheduling an initial session to learn more about your relationship, share her initial thoughts, and discuss how therapy can help you move forward.
