Introduction

Psychoanalytic therapy is a process of self-discovery, integration, and healing that moves beyond coping to address the root causes of anxiety, depression, and persistent difficulties. It is unique in the way it illuminates unconscious patterns, inner conflicts, underlying narratives, and the impact of life experiences on your sense of self, perspective, and ways of being. Together we listen for the parts of you that haven't yet been fully heard and find ways to speak of what feels beyond words. This in-depth work gives the needed time and space for what is unresolved to rise up and move through you. As new insights, expressions, and perspectives emerge, so do new ways of living. I strive to build a collaborative therapeutic alliance grounded in trust, respect, curiosity, and openness where you feel comfortable speaking freely of whatever comes to mind in a process of free association. While this demands considerable courage and vulnerability, many come to find it exceptionally liberating, enjoyable, and even exciting as they happen upon new aspects of themselves, unexpected shifts in perspective, buried emotions and desires, and a deeper comfort in being as they are. While I work with individuals navigating a wide range of concerns, I specialize in working with people navigating the lingering effects of childhood trauma or difficult family dynamics, as well as those searching for a deeper sense of identity, purpose, meaning, or joy, often after destabilizing experiences such as life transitions, grief or loss, divorce or separation, breakups, infidelity, parenthood, and existential, spiritual, or religious questions. My approach is grounded in psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapy. I earned my bachelor’s degree at Yale University and my master's degree at the Institute for Clinical Social Work. Since completing a two-year fellowship in psychoanalytic theory at Depth Counseling, I continue to pursue analytic training and work with adults and adolescents both in-person and virtually. I meet with clients between one and five times per week, depending on your needs. If you are interested in pursuing this kind of work together, I’d be happy to speak with you and answer any questions you may have. Feel free to contact me via phone or email, or book a free consultation or initial session.
