Depth therapy is a process of self-discovery, integration, and healing that moves beyond coping to address the root causes of anxiety, depression, and persistent difficulties. Psychoanalytic work is unique in the way it helps us understand unconscious patterns, inner conflicts, and the impact of life experiences on our sense of self, perspective, and ways of being. Gradually and creatively, we find ways to speak of what feels beyond words and listen to the parts of us that haven't yet been heard. In this process, we come to deeper understandings of ourselves, others, and the world we live in, often leading to transformative perspectives that open up new possibilities in living. I strive to build a reflective, collaborative space grounded in trust, respect, curiosity, and openness where you can feel comfortable to speak freely of whatever comes to mind. While this process of free association demands considerable courage and vulnerability, many come to find it liberating, enjoyable, and even exciting as they discover new or cast-off aspects of self, unexpected perspectives, and a deeper comfort in being as they are. While I work with adults and adolescents navigating a wide range of concerns, I specialize in working with people navigating the lingering effects of childhood trauma or difficult family dynamics, as well as those searching for a deeper sense of identity, purpose, meaning, or joy, often after destabilizing experiences such as life transitions, grief or loss, divorce, breakups, infidelity, parenthood, and existential, spiritual, or religious questions. My work is grounded in psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapy and integrates humanistic-existential and cognitive theories in a flexible and trauma-informed approach that is tailored to each individual and their unique needs. I work with adults and adolescents one to five times weekly. If you are interested in pursuing this kind of work together, I'd be happy to speak with you and answer any questions you may have.
