Introduction

Hello, My name is Justin King, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland. My journey into mental health started from my own experience as a young man feeling like I did not always have a space to truly be heard or openly process what I was experiencing. As I began working with other young men facing similar struggles, I realized how important it is to create a space where people feel comfortable being honest, understood, and supported without judgment. That experience continues to shape the work that I do today. Throughout my career, I have worked in community mental health, psychiatric rehabilitation, case management, anger management, higher education counseling, and other specialized treatment settings. I primarily work with adults, young adults, undergraduate and graduate students, and individuals navigating anxiety, communication difficulties, emotional regulation, self-esteem concerns, relationship stress, executive functioning difficulties, and life transitions. My approach integrates Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness to help clients better understand themselves, challenge unhealthy patterns, improve communication, and develop healthier ways of coping and responding to life. My goal is to create a space that feels real, supportive, practical, and growth-oriented. I want clients to leave therapy with greater self-awareness, healthier coping strategies, improved confidence, and the ability to navigate life in a more intentional and balanced way. The most meaningful part of this work for me is seeing clients grow into the version of themselves they were hoping to become when they first started therapy.
