At Kadene Limmer, LCSW, Counseling Services, I provide supportive, practical therapy for autistic and ADHD individuals, young adults, motivated adults, and families. Many of the people I work with feel stuck, overwhelmed, shut down, anxious, misunderstood, or constantly in defense mode. Therapy does not have to feel intimidating. This is a safe, human, simple, and welcoming space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and work through what life is asking of you at a pace that feels manageable. My approach blends therapy and coaching. Therapy helps us better understand emotions, patterns, anxiety, overwhelm, defensiveness, and relationship dynamics. Coaching-style support helps turn that understanding into realistic tools for daily life, communication, coping, self-advocacy, executive functioning, independence, school or work transitions, and next steps. My understanding of autism and ADHD comes from professional training, clinical experience, and lived experience. I know how important it is for therapy to feel respectful, clear, and genuinely understanding rather than judgmental or overwhelming. Therapy tends to be most helpful when the person attending is willing to participate, even if they feel nervous, unsure, guarded, overwhelmed, or stuck at first. If a parent or family member is seeking therapy for someone who has no interest in participating, I may recommend a parent consultation or family support session instead.
