Introduction

I’m Kai Coca (they/them), and I specialize in supporting teens and adults who are navigating challenges such as depression, anxiety and panic, trauma, relationship concerns, and identity exploration. I also have experience working alongside individuals living with disability and chronic illness, recognizing the unique impact these experiences have on daily life and mental health. My approach to therapy is collaborative and client-centered—I believe that true healing happens when clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to define their own goals. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work with clients to identify what support looks like for them in each stage of their journey. I draw from a multicultural, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming framework, honoring the complexities of each person’s background, culture, and lived experience. I understand that issues of identity—whether related to sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, or other aspects of self—can be deeply personal and layered, and I aim to create a safe, affirming space for exploration and growth. Above all, I believe that lived experience is one of the most powerful forms of education. While I bring clinical training and therapeutic tools to the room, I recognize that clients are the true experts in their own lives. My role is not to tell people who they are or what they need, but to walk alongside them as they uncover their strengths, process their experiences, and move toward greater self-understanding and fulfillment.
