Introduction

Hi! I’m Kaila, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Tangled Roots, a women-owned wellness center built on the belief that healing begins when we feel safe, understood, and supported. My path to becoming a therapist began with a deep passion for helping people navigate some of life’s most difficult experiences. Before entering private practice, I worked as a medical and legal advocate at a local rape crisis center, supporting survivors through moments of crisis, trauma, and uncertainty. That experience shaped the foundation of my work today, creating a space where clients can process their experiences, reconnect with themselves, and begin healing at their own pace. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults navigating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, mood disorders, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and major life transitions. I am especially passionate about supporting teens and young adults as they explore identity, strengthen confidence, and make sense of the patterns that impact their lives and relationships. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I incorporate evidence-based approaches including EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic techniques, mindfulness, and other therapeutic tools tailored to each individual. I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up authentically, where there is room for vulnerability, growth, humor, and honest reflection. At Tangled Roots, my hope is to help clients understand the roots of their struggles, build meaningful tools for healing, and create lasting change that extends beyond the therapy room.
