Introduction

My name is Kaitlyn and I am the owner of Curious Mind CBT. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from NYU Silver School of Social Work and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology from UConn (Go Huskies!) I am licensed in New York, Connecticut, Vermont, New Jersey, and Florida. I aim to create a therapeutic space that helps you process any difficulty you might be facing, whether that be work or school stress, past or recent trauma, or ongoing symptoms of anxiety or depression. I utilize my experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you identify what may be holding you back as well as what you might need to mobilize moving forward. My approach to therapy is collaborative and honest. I will be sure to meet you where you are, help you feel understood, and foster a strong therapeutic relationship. With me, you will feel comfortable and safe while expanding your way of thinking and reflecting on your past with new-found insight. I can help you learn and practice skills to break maladaptive patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while instilling healthier coping skills so that you can be the best version of yourself. You deserve to feel like the best version of yourself and I want to help you get there! You can’t always predict what life has in store for you but I look forward to helping you feel confident and empowered in handling whatever that might be. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Connecticut and then went on to get my Masters in Social Work at NYU’s Silver School of Social Work. I have specialized my practice in cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma work, and mindfulness practices. I have completed additional postgraduate training in cognitive behavioral therapy, psychedelic-assisted therapy, trauma-focused care, couple’s counseling, and mindfulness practices. Training and certifications: Certified Cognitive Therapist and Diplomat of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy Certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Completed additional postgraduate training in psychedelic-assisted therapy, trauma-focused care, couple’s counseling, and mindfulness practices. Graduated from SCSU’s SIFI program and is SIFI certified to provide supervision and training to MSW interns. I am a Journey Clinical KAP Provider, offering Ketamine Assisted Therapy as a therapeutic modality that integrates ketamine with psychotherapy. I deliver KAP in collaboration with Journey Clinical, whose specialized medical team assesses eligibility, prescribes ketamine, and provides outcome monitoring. I have experience working with a variety of populations and diagnoses. Throughout my career, I have focused on empowering individuals in a variety of settings and circumstances in order to help them instill confidence and decrease symptomology in taking their desired next steps. I have noted experience working with clients going through life transitions and coping with the associated stressors and symptoms. I have worked in homeless shelters, community mental health, and private practice and have worked with individuals, couples, and groups.
