Introduction

Hi, I’m Dr. Kaity Brock I am a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Professional Counselor with over 14 years of experience. I help women in their 20’s and 30’s who struggle with overcommitting, overdoing, and putting themselves last. Women who have trouble saying “no” and feel like a jerk when they can’t meet everyone’s needs. My clients struggle as you do. Despite being high achieving, driven, and deeply hardworking, life is hard. When they first come in, they feel anxious, burned out, and exhausted from being pulled in too many directions. They feel depleted, unappreciated, and stressed out. They worry they’re pushing people and opportunities away when they say no. Whether it’s at work with coworkers or with family and friends, they feel resigned to the needs of others or their larger goals. How they feel or what they want just doesn’t matter. They feel like screaming every time they say yes to something they don’t have the physical or emotional energy for but are afraid of letting someone down or losing sight of their big dreams. They are perfectionistic and, at times, very harsh with themselves. Putting themselves last gets in the way of the life they want in so many ways. They aren’t the kind of person they want to be. They aren’t enjoying their lives as much as they hoped to. They struggle with needing validation from others, or they hope that achievements will help them feel like they’re doing the right things. They feel like they’re failing as a friend, sister, daughter, or partner. And their confidence is tanking. Before they came to see me, they felt guilty for being frustrated and drained. Other people can give freely, why can’t they? That putting themselves first means they are selfish or indulgent. Or that saying no means they don’t care or they’re lazy. But they’re running on empty, and at their core, they’re suffering for it. Like my clients, you deserve to put yourself first without worrying about letting down your partner, family, friend, or boss. Feeling peaceful and fulfilled without an overstuffed schedule is not out of your reach. If you want to put yourself higher on the priority list or say no without guilt or fear, I’d love to help you get there. Call now. You don’t have to suffer. I can help.
