Introduction

Life is a complex story that we are all "told" to figure out. However, sometimes figuring it out can be challenging or even downright confusing. As a therapist, I believe therapy should be an open space where you are acknowledged, respected and understood. My approach to therapy is that you are a writer of your own story, while therapy is designed to help give you tools, support, and perspective, you are the person who understands yourself best. My therapeutic approach is grounded in Person-Centered foundations incorporating other therapeutic styles such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy. Together, we can explore the thoughts, emotions, relationships, and most importantly, your experience, that may be affecting your well being while developing skills to help you navigate the complexities of your story. I have keen interest in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, self-harm, identity development, relationship concerns, and difficulties with self-worth. I am committed to providing LGBTQIA+-affirming and culturally responsive care, with an understanding of how race, identity, culture, and social experiences can shape mental health and the therapeutic experience. My goals in my therapeutic space is to foster to explore experiences that may be difficult to discuss or have historically been met with silence, and create a therapeutic relationship where you do not have to minimize your experiences or navigate them alone. Whether you are struggling to understand what you are feeling, processing past experiences, or simply looking for a place to grow, therapy can be a space to begin writing a different story for yourself. My hope is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to grow, and empowered to better understand yourself along the way. You do not have to have every part of your story figured out before beginning therapy, you simply have to be willing to start where you are.
