I believe people are seeking their authentic self. Often a person needs a non-judgmental, empathetic listener to begin their healing journey. I come along side a client to walk them through various stages of their processing. I help teens age 12+ and adults explore current stressors which have been maladaptively processed. Learning, "The past is in the present", the client begins to identify their somatic, emotional and cognitive responses to stress. I teach skills such as calm space, container, mindfulness, and acceptance, sprinkled with some parts work to integrate the whole self. I am trained in (EMDR) and I have extensive training to support people and/or their loved ones affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), neuroscience of substance use disorders, LGBTQIA+ unique concerns, depression, anxiety, relational stressors, survival of domestic violence and those individuals and couples seeking general counseling and support. My goal in helping individuals is for self-actualization. I use an eclectic approach to treatment; employing a variety of theories to build a therapeutic relationship, which includes: client-centered therapy, EMDR, IFS, solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Gottman Theory.
