Hi! I'm Karina, and I'm so glad you found your way to my profile. Taking this first step toward therapy isn't always easy, so thank you for being here! For me, therapy starts with safety and comfort. I know everyone comes to therapy with different needs and a different story, so I take the time to get to know you and shape my approach around who you are. I'm especially passionate about supporting women and sexual and gender minorities as they navigate life's hardest moments. In our work together, I draw on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), blended with a relational, person-centered style that adapts to you. More than anything, I want our sessions to feel like a space where you can show up as you are and feel truly seen, heard, and valued. My background in psychology, sociology, and women's and gender studies shapes how I show up as a trauma-informed counselor. I also hold space for body image concerns through a health-at-every-size, body-neutral lens, with an awareness of how much our culture and environment shape the way we feel about ourselves. I'm currently welcoming new clients and offer both telehealth and in-person sessions. I'd love to get to know you! Feel free to reach out for a free consultation first to see if we are a good fit.
