Hi, I'm Karissa Coleman, Ed.S., LPC, BC-TMH, NCC. I work with individuals who feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stretched thin by anxiety, depression, relationship stress, parenting challenges, burnout, or difficult life transitions. At Beauty for Ashes Counseling Services, I provide a calm, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, talk openly, and feel supported. Therapy here is practical, compassionate, and grounded in your real life and not pressure to "have it all together." I also offer bariatric surgery evaluations as a specialized service for individuals preparing for weight loss surgery. These evaluations focus on emotional readiness, strengths, and tools to support long-term success, whether you are self-pay or referred by a provider. I also support clients both before and after surgery, helping you navigate the emotional and behavioral changes that come with this journey. With nearly 20 years of mental health experience and 25 years in education, I blend evidence-based approaches such as CBT, Interpersonal Therapy, Behavioral Activation, Motivational Interviewing, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Supportive Therapy, and Strength-Based Therapy with genuine, down-to-earth conversation. Our work is tailored to your goals, values, and pace. I am fully licensed for both in-person and telehealth sessions in Mississippi and Tennessee. I am also a Louisiana Registered Telehealth Therapist and offer telehealth services in Colorado. Self-pay and sliding-scale options are available when insurance coverage is limited. I'm also in-network with UHC and partner with EAP and behavioral health platforms including Lyra, SpringHealth, Rula, and Grow Therapy, making it easier to access care through your employer benefits or existing coverage. Whether you're starting therapy for the first time, returning after a hard season, or preparing for a life-changing surgery, you don't have to do this alone. Healing is possible, and I'd be honored to walk alongside you.
