Introduction

Karvinen Counseling Services is a group therapy practice based in Glen Carbon, Illinois, serving Edwardsville, Maryville, Collinsville, Troy and the wider Metro East — in person at our office and online across Illinois. Our mission is simple: to help individuals and couples achieve mental and emotional well-being through personalized, professional, and compassionate care. We believe therapy works best in a space that feels safe and non-judgmental — somewhere you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly, at your own pace. Whether you're navigating a hard season or working toward lasting change, our goal is to walk alongside you, build on your strengths, and help you find real, lasting solutions. Our team of licensed therapists brings a wide range of training and specialties, so we can match you with a clinician who fits your needs. Together we help teens, adults, and couples with concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, self-esteem, relationship struggles, life transitions, substance use, and more — drawing on evidence-based approaches like CBT, EMDR, motivational interviewing, art therapy, and solution-focused therapy. We're also proud to be an LGBTQ+ affirming practice. We offer teen and adolescent therapy, adult and individual counseling, couples and marriage counseling, online therapy, and psychosexual evaluations/risk assessments. Sessions can be in person at our Glen Carbon office, online by secure video anywhere in Illinois, or a combination of both — whatever fits your life. We're in-network with many major insurers — including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Evernorth, HealthLink, Optum, UnitedHealthcare, GEHA, and UMR — and our staff is happy to help you understand your coverage before you begin. Founded by Tracy Karvinen, LCPC, CADC, with more than 30 years in mental health and substance use treatment, our practice is built on the belief that support should be compassionate, respectful, and tailored to each person we serve." When you're ready, we'd be honored to help.
