Therapy is all about healing. Healing from the past, old wounds, thoughts or feelings that aren't serving you anymore. So often, we have learned various ways of living to get through the days, to cope, but it's surviving and not truly living. For most, facing those things seems scary and that fear keeps them from living the life they want. I see my role as a therapist is to foster a space of safety so healing can occur. Through compassion, honesty, and ultimately connection, I work with my clients to help them move towards their best selves. Over the years of practicing, I have discovered a real joy in working with clients with issues that hinder their daily lives and walking alongside them as they find hope and we foster healing. The pain that comes from things like PTSD and secondary trauma, anxiety, and chronic pain/illness can be so heavy. I also have a special passion for working with those in the helping profession—other therapists, medical professionals, teachers, clergy, etc. This is because it is often those who help others that don't have anywhere to turn when they are struggling both personally and professionally. I love being that place where “helpers” can go for help.
