Hi there! I’m Katherine, and I’m a first generation Latina therapist with over five years of experience supporting survivors of trauma, including sexual abuse, childhood abuse, and domestic violence. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at Tyler in 2021. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including a crisis center, college counseling centers, and private practice, supporting individuals navigating complex trauma and difficult life experiences. My work is grounded in a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach. I incorporate modalities such as EMDR and sand tray therapy to help clients process experiences that can be difficult to put into words. While trauma work can be heavy, I believe therapy can also include moments of humor, authenticity, and genuine connection. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and supported as they explore their experiences, build healthier coping tools, and reconnect with their sense of self.
