Dr. Katherine Dautenhahn is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the treatment of PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, substance use, and eating disorders. Dr. Dautenhahn has expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy, with certifications in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Substance Use Disorder (CBT-SUD). She also has extensive experience with mindfulness based interventions and suicide prevention. Throughout their work, Dr. Dautenhahn is careful to take an individualized approach by prioritizing client goals, celebrating client’s unique cultural traditions, and integrating relevant diversity and contextual factors into treatment. As a queer identified clinician, Dr. Dautenhahn has extensive experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals. While serving as the LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator at VA Greater Los Angeles, Dr. Dautenhahn created and led trainings aimed at fostering affirming care throughout the healthcare system. Dr. Dautenhahn values a holistic approach to care and works from a health-at-every-size perspective. Dr. Dautenhahn received her doctorate from Loma Linda University and completed her APA accredited internship at the VA Pacific Islands Healthcare System in Honolulu. Dr. Dautenhahn completed an additional APA accredited trauma focused fellowship at the Central Arkansas VA Healthcare System, with a specific emphasis in Prolonged Exposure (PE).
