Katherine spent the majority of her therapeutic career in a community-based setting, meeting with youths impacted by substance abuse, alcoholism, mental health, and co-occurring disorders within their homes and communities. Katherine has worked with these youth and their families to help mend the ties that substance use has broken. Before starting her own practice, Katherine was a school social worker for youth and young adults with emotional, cognitive, and other health impairments. Many people view therapy as sitting on a leather sofa and recounting their issues to an old man or woman staring at you behind half-lowered glasses, giving you a judgmental look that you can feel in your soul. Katherine aims to break that therapy stigma by creating a warm, friendly, inviting environment that feels like you are sitting down with an old friend.
