We all develop ways of surviving life's challenges that at the time make sense but may hurt or hold us back in the long run. How we dealt with the past ends up dictating our current relationships, emotional responses, and belief in our ability to change. While insight building is highly valuable, my experience is that most people already know what holds them back or what they wish were different in their lives. I use skills-based and motivational approaches to help clients move beyond insight and into actionable steps for sustained change. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (11759) and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (22979). I have additional experience and training in adult ADHD, emotion-dysregulation difficulties, and anxiety disorders. I primarily use Dialectical-Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness-Based Interventions to explore client concerns and promote change. I promise to work together with you to incorporate the strengths you already have into the therapeutic process.
