## Meet Kathryn ### Thoughtful Therapy. Individualized Care. Meaningful Change. **Kathryn Pojer-Boulton, MPH, LSW** is the founder and owner of **Moshannon Valley Counseling**, a private psychotherapy practice dedicated to providing highly individualized, thoughtful, and clinically informed care to adults and couples. Kathryn believes exceptional therapy begins with understanding the whole person—not simply a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. Her approach is intentionally personalized, recognizing that each client enters therapy with a unique history, set of relationships, personal strengths, and vision for the future. With extensive experience across private practice, clinical social work, medical settings, crisis intervention, and complex care coordination, Kathryn brings a broad and sophisticated perspective to the therapeutic process. Prior to founding Moshannon Valley Counseling, she practiced with Expressions Counseling Services Ltd. in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, and has worked with individuals and families throughout Pennsylvania and New York. Kathryn earned a **Master of Social Work in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University's Graduate School of Social Service** and a **Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from New York Medical College**. This distinctive combination of clinical and public health education shapes her comprehensive approach to mental health and allows her to consider the complex ways emotional well-being, relationships, physical health, life experiences, and environment intersect. ### A Personalized Approach to Therapy Kathryn works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, emotional dysregulation, trauma-related concerns, relationship difficulties, and significant life transitions. She is particularly experienced in working with individuals whose needs may be complex or who are seeking a more individualized approach to therapy. Her work with **couples** focuses on strengthening communication, navigating recurring conflict, rebuilding trust, understanding relationship patterns, and restoring emotional connection. Couples therapy is approached with balance and intention, creating space for each partner to feel heard while identifying practical opportunities for meaningful change within the relationship. Kathryn's clinical approach incorporates **Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative-Based Therapy**, alongside other evidence-based and person-centered interventions. Rather than relying on a single therapeutic model, she thoughtfully integrates clinical approaches based on each client's individual needs and treatment goals. Her style is **direct, collaborative, compassionate, and goal-oriented**. Therapy with Kathryn is designed to be an active process—one that encourages insight while also developing practical skills and strategies that can be carried into everyday life. ### A Different Kind of Private Practice Moshannon Valley Counseling was founded on the belief that mental health care should feel personal. As a privately owned practice, care is intentionally individualized. Treatment plans are thoughtfully developed around the client, therapeutic goals are regularly considered, and the work evolves as each client's needs change. The result is a therapy experience that is **personal, focused, and grounded in genuine human connection**. Services are available **in person and through telehealth**, providing flexibility while maintaining the same commitment to individualized care. ### Begin the Conversation Whether you are navigating a complex season of life, seeking greater emotional clarity, working to change long-standing patterns, or hoping to strengthen an important relationship, therapy can provide the space to move forward with greater intention. **Your story is individual.
