Introduction

Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and finding someone you feel comfortable with matters. At Moshannon Valley Counseling, Kathryn believes therapy should be a place where you feel heard, respected, and supported—without judgment. Kathryn Pojer-Boulton, MPH, LSW, is the founder and owner of Moshannon Valley Counseling. She works with adults and couples navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, addiction and recovery, trauma, relationship challenges, personality disorders, emotional overwhelm, and life's many transitions. Whether you're feeling stuck, working toward recovery, struggling in a relationship, or simply looking to better understand yourself, Kathryn provides a welcoming space where real change can happen. Kathryn earned her Master of Social Work in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University and her Master of Public Health from New York Medical College. Her background allows her to look beyond symptoms and understand how relationships, physical health, life experiences, and everyday stress all play a role in emotional well-being. Before opening Moshannon Valley Counseling, Kathryn worked in private practice, medical social work, home health, crisis intervention, geriatric care, and community mental health. She has experience working with individuals facing complex mental health concerns, developmental disabilities, chronic medical conditions, and significant life challenges. Those experiences continue to shape the thoughtful, individualized care she provides today. Kathryn has a special interest in working with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, addiction and recovery, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, and relationship concerns. She enjoys helping clients better understand themselves, build on their strengths, improve relationships, and develop practical tools they can use long after they leave the therapy office. Her approach is neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based, and grounded in evidence-based care. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and other evidence-based approaches, always tailoring treatment to the person sitting in front of her. Kathryn believes there isn't one "right" way to do therapy—every client is different, and therapy should reflect that. Kathryn also enjoys working with couples who want to improve communication, rebuild trust, work through conflict, or reconnect with one another. Her goal is to help both partners feel heard while building healthier patterns that strengthen their relationship. Clients often describe Kathryn as warm, approachable, genuine, and easy to talk to. Therapy with Kathryn is collaborative and conversational. She'll meet you where you are, help you better understand what's getting in the way, and work alongside you to create meaningful, lasting change. As the owner of a boutique private practice, Kathryn intentionally keeps her practice personal. She values building genuine relationships with her clients and creating a space where people feel comfortable being themselves while working toward their goals. Whether you're looking for support as an individual or as a couple, Moshannon Valley Counseling is here to help. We'd be honored to be part of your journey.
