Hello! My name is Katie Farley and I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 14 years of nursing experience. I have worked in various settings including inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, medical oncology, med surg, surgery, infusion therapy, and nurse navigation. In every nursing position I’ve held, the impact mental health has had on patients’ overall wellbeing has been incredibly profound. I became a PMHNP because I am passionate about the transformative power that caring for mental health can provide. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults living with mood disorders (depression & bipolar), anxiety, ADHD, sleep issues, psychosis, and navigating difficult trauma/stressors in life. While primarily focusing on medication management, I also utilize supportive and humanistic psychotherapeutic techniques during appointments. I often advocate for and can refer patients to additional treatment modalities such as individual therapy, EMDR, biofeedback, ketamine, etc, to maximize benefits and improve patient outcomes. I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental, and empathetic atmosphere where patients feel comfortable and at ease. As a provider, it is my goal to truly listen and understand what’s most important to my patients so that together we can create collaborative, individualized, and evidence-based goals of care that guide patients toward becoming their best selves.
