Introduction

On paper, you may look like you’re doing fine. In reality, you might feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that aren’t working. I’m a trauma-informed therapist in Chicago specializing in anxiety, PTSD, substance use, and complicated relationship dynamics. I work with adults who want honest conversations, practical tools, and meaningful change — not surface-level support. My approach blends harm-reduction principles with direct, collaborative therapy. That means no judgment around coping strategies, no avoiding hard topics, and no pretending growth is instant. We work at a pace that feels steady, grounded, and intentional. What You Can Expect in Session Sessions are active and collaborative. We’ll examine patterns, build emotional regulation skills, and develop practical strategies you can use outside of therapy. I provide honest feedback when needed, while maintaining a supportive and respectful space. What Happens in the first session Your first session is about understanding what brings you in and what you’d like to shift. We’ll talk through current stressors, relevant history, and your goals. There’s no pressure to share everything immediately. The focus is building clarity and comfort so we can move forward intentionally. Primary Specialties • Anxiety & Panic • Trauma & PTSD • Substance Use & Harm Reduction • Relationship Patterns • Sexuality & Identity Exploration Treatment Approaches • Trauma-Informed Therapy • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) • Harm Reduction • Motivational Interviewing • Person-Centered Therapy • Emotional Regulation Skills What Makes My Approach Different I create space for conversations many people hesitate to have elsewhere — including substance use ambivalence, sexuality, and relationship complexity. My style balances warmth with directness so therapy feels human, not clinical. The goal is sustainable change, not performative progress. Populations Adults Young Adults Individuals navigating stress, trauma, substance use, or relationship concerns Insurance & Payment I accept select insurance plans and offer private pay options. I’m happy to discuss fees and coverage details so you understand your options before beginning therapy.
