When you pause and look at your day-to-day life, you feel overwhelmed; you feel uncertain about the next steps, and you have a constant stream of negative thoughts that will not go away on their own. The clients I see are experiencing anxious and depressive thought patterns and beliefs, in addition to challenges with self-esteem, body image, reproductive health, and trauma. Clients often feel lost and do not know where to start. Yet, they know what is presently happening needs support. Clients want to learn how to respond to their emotions and current circumstances, while also establishing more awareness about themselves. I help clients by examining the emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that are creating barriers. We explore irrational thoughts and beliefs and learn to reframe them to what is helpful. I utilize mindfulness practices and art therapy for further exploration and expression in the therapy space to help the client regulate their emotions and stay in the present moment.
