Hi there! My name is Katrina. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Alabama. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to help people which is why I am dedicated, today, to providing a safe, welcoming, affirming, and nonjudgemental environment where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout your healing journey. I have experience working with individuals in recovery from substance use disorders, those living with chronic health conditions such as HIV, diabetes, chronic kidney disease (CKD), end-stage renal disease (ESRD), neurological disorders, and cancer, as well as those navigating life transitions, grief and loss, trauma, and providing support for organ donor families and organ transplant recipients. I, also, offer LGBTQIA+ affirming care where members of the community can seek out compassionate safe spaces to foster health, self-discovery, and positive change. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you build on your strengths while providing support through a trauma-informed, person-centered approach. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, and strengths-based practices with support from other modalities to create a personal approach that fits your unique needs. I am currently accepting clients 18 years of age and older. Whether you are adjusting to a new chapter, coping with a chronic illness, or simply looking for a place to process life's challenges, I would be honored to support you as you move toward healing, growth, and lasting change. It is important to me that the space that is created between us allows you to feel that support from the moment we begin working together.
