Introduction

My name is Kayla, I’m a mental health counselor in Durham, NC. I specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals, conditions like Autism, ADHD, and OCD fall under this umbrella. I also have experience working with a variety of other concerns. I mainly work with teens and adults. As a neurodivergent counselor, I know how hard it is to be comfortable in a new space. I’m a laid back therapist, so please do whatever you need to in order to feel comfortable, whether that’s laying on the couch, kicking your shoes off, or munching on a snack. My counseling approach is based on who you are as an individual, not a specific theory or technique. I believe it’s important for me to get to know you, and it’s also important for you to know a little about me. So here goes… I have 2 beautiful pups, Nala and Winnie, who are my absolute world. I love to read and binge watch TV shows. In the summer, I will find as much time as possible to go to the beach and be in the sun. I’m my genuine self in session, so if I say quirky or weird/nerdy things don’t hold it against me. Although therapy is hard work, it can also be a lot of fun!
