If you’re here, you may be feeling overwhelmed by intense emotions, mood shifts, past experiences, or patterns that feel hard to change. You might be tired of being defined by diagnoses, labels, or struggles that don’t capture who you truly are. Welcome. You are at the right place. My name is Kayla Meyertons, and I am a licensed clinical therapist offering private-pay individual therapy services both in-person in the Houston Galleria area and virtual via Telehealth throughout Texas. I work with individuals who are navigating intense emotions, mood changes, trauma, and patterns that can feel difficult to understand or shift. My areas of focus include borderline personality disorder (BPD), bipolar disorder, addiction, and trauma. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, and are looking for both understanding and practical support. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to you. I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic therapy to help you build effective coping skills while also exploring the deeper emotional and relational experiences that shape your life. Therapy with me is a space where you can feel heard without judgment, gain insight, and develop tools to create meaningful, lasting change. I entered the clinical mental health field after nearly 7 years in personal recovery and a background in business, environmental, and mental health journalism. I obtained my Master of Social Work from The University of Houston, with an undergraduate Bachelor of Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin. In my free time, I take many nature walks with my German Shepherd, connect to the local recovery community, write creatively, and create oil paintings professionally. You are more than a diagnosis, a behavior, or a moment in your life. If you're curious about working together, I invite you to reach out.
