Introduction

I am Kayla O'Brien and provide services as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I was born and raised in Upstate New York and have recently moved back to the area after establishing my career in Buffalo. I hope to serve the community that raised me while also offering services that extend to Western New York communities. Since obtaining my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Niagara University, I have been working in community behavioral health clinics serving individuals navigating mental health and substance use disorders. I have been trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including basic training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in 2023. I continue to expand my training in therapeutic modalities to treat a variety of diagnoses including anxiety, depression, and trauma. I provide an integrated approach to mental health treatment that incorporates not just the mind, but the physical body as well. If you are someone who has tried counseling in the past but still feel stuck, can analyze and intellectualize your patterns, or understand your trauma but continue to live it, this approach may be for you. I am passionate about my work as a therapist and am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of my client’s lives. If you are interested in services or just curious if we may be a good match, please reach out for a free consultation!
