My name is Keaghan Smith (She/Her), and I am an Intern from Central Michigan University’s master’s-level Counseling Program. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Community Development with a concentration in Community Health, and a dual minor in Psychology and Cultural and Global Studies from Central Michigan University. I take a warm, collaborative, and client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from multiple evidence-based modalities with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to meet each individual where they are. I believe therapy should be a safe, grounded space where folks feel respected, understood, and supported as they make sense of their experiences. I have experience providing counseling to adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and grief, and I am particularly interested in supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals as they explore identity, relationships, and life transitions within an affirming and inclusive therapy space. I am committed to approaching my work with compassion and advocacy, while remaining mindful of the social and systemic factors that shape clients’ experiences.
