Introduction

You Don’t Have to Keep Feeling Stuck Maybe you’ve tried to understand why certain relationships feel so difficult. Maybe you find yourself overthinking, shutting down, people-pleasing, feeling anxious or disconnected—or repeating patterns you promised yourself you wouldn’t. Sometimes you know something isn’t quite right, but you’re not sure why. And sometimes the hardest part is simply wondering, “Is therapy really for me?” You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. I work exclusively with individual adults navigating the effects of relational trauma—whether those experiences began in childhood or developed later in life. Together, we can slow things down, make sense of what you’ve been carrying, and begin creating a different way forward. When Your Past Keeps Showing Up in the Present Relational trauma can take many forms. It may come from childhood experiences with caregivers, emotionally unavailable or unpredictable relationships, neglect, abuse, bullying, betrayal, or growing up feeling that your needs and emotions were too much. It can also happen in adulthood through painful relationships, divorce, betrayal, emotional abuse, controlling dynamics, loss, or other experiences that changed how safe you feel with yourself or others. You may notice it in ways that seem unrelated to the past: difficulty trusting people or letting yourself be vulnerable Anxiety, overthinking, or an overwhelming need for reassurance People-pleasing or difficulty setting boundaries Feeling responsible for everyone else’s emotions Fear of rejection, abandonment, or being misunderstood Repeating painful relationship patterns Feeling disconnected from your emotions or from yourself Shame, self-criticism, or feeling like you’re never “enough” Becoming overwhelmed, shutting down, or feeling emotionally numb Struggling to know what you need or how to ask for it Knowing intellectually that you’re safe, while your body still feels on guard You may have learned these ways of coping for very good reasons. Therapy isn’t about judging those patterns or blaming your past. It’s about understanding why they developed—and helping you discover that you have more choices now. Therapy Can Be a Place to Finally Exhale My approach is compassionate, genuine, and direct. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be honest without having to perform, explain everything perfectly, or pretend that you’re doing better than you are. We’ll work together to understand the patterns beneath the surface—not just manage symptoms. Depending on what you need, our work may draw from attachment-based therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, somatic approaches, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and depth psychology. The goal isn’t simply to help you “cope.” It’s to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, feel more grounded in your own life, build healthier relationships, strengthen your boundaries, and respond to yourself with greater compassion. You don’t have to become someone different. You get to become more fully yourself. You Can Start Where You Are You don’t need to know exactly what you need from therapy before reaching out. A free 15-minute consultation gives us a chance to talk about what’s bringing you in, answer your questions, and see whether working together feels like the right fit. Appointments are available via Telehealth or in-office. Due to a high volume of calls, I’m unable to return voicemails at this time. Please schedule your consultation online or reach out by email. If a part of you is wondering whether it’s time to reach out, you’re welcome to take that first step. I look forward to connecting with you.
