Introduction

The weight of past pain or trauma can show up in subtle ways (tension, worry, feeling disconnected) even when life seems fine on the surface. You spend so much time caring for everyone else that it’s easy to lose sight of your own needs. Maybe you’ve been pushing through for so long that slowing down feels unfamiliar. You're not alone. My clients often come to me craving calm, clarity, and a sense of connection - to themselves and the people they love. We can work through this together! Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all. My goal is to create a supportive, trusting space where you can show up as you are. Although my approach may differ depending on my client's needs, I draw from relational, attachment-based, cognitive-behavioral, IFS/parts work, and somatic therapies to help you feel understood, grounded, and empowered to grow. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel vulnerable, and I know that’s not easy. You don’t need to have it all figured out or know what to say. You just need a place to land. A space where you can feel safe, seen, and supported as we make sense of things together. A Bit About Me: Hi there! I’m Kelsey Ellis, Ph.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist and founder of Common Ground Therapy & Wellness PLLC. I have specialized training in trauma-informed care and work with women navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the lingering effects of trauma. Before starting my practice, I worked in hospitals, college counseling centers, and community clinics—spaces where I learned how strong people can be even when life feels completely upside down. That perspective guides everything I do in therapy. Outside the therapy room, I’m a mom to two high-energy boys who keep me humble, curious, and laughing daily. I’m happiest with a hot cup of coffee in hand, a new book or documentary queued up, and a quiet moment to breathe before the day begins. If we work together, my hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can exhale—a space that feels calm, real, and supportive as you reconnect with what matters most.
