Introduction

As a licensed social worker, Kendra provides space and opportunities for clients to engage in nonjudgmental awareness and skill-building while practicing empathy, compassion, and perspective-taking. Kendra's path is rooted in personal experiences with many of the same issues her clients face today. This unique perspective and awareness give Kendra an insightful and authentic way of connecting with patients. Kendra earned her Bachelors from SUNY New Paltz, focused on Psychology and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. After college in 2015, Kendra moved to San Antonio, TX, to serve in an AmeriCorps program before attending the University of Houston in 2016, where she would earn a Master of Social Work (2018). Kendra eventually navigated back to the Northeast and began working as a licensed social worker under supervision. In 2023, Kendra obtained her independent clinical social work license; the rest is history! Kendra's Perspective: The path I’ve navigated has weaved in and out of high-risk communities, crisis intervention, healthcare settings, family homes, kids' schools, and even guiding psychedelic experiences. Every path and person is different, and for this reason, I have an eclectic and trauma-informed approach to therapy. I am here to work with you to identify where support is needed and develop realistic treatment goals that will empower lasting change. Along with reflective and intuitive listening practices, you can expect engagement with multiple evidenced-based practices, including Cognitive (CBT), Dialectical (DBT), Mindfulness, and Solution-focused therapies. Whether your struggle surrounds a major life shift, trauma, generalized anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, chronic illness, or grief, I believe the power of a growth mindset puts us in a position where change is possible. My work with Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy has shown me how deep and vast the brain's neural network can be and that new connections are possible. We can't expect to harvest tomorrow, the seeds we plant today. Change happens over time. When nurtured, those seeds become strong enough to burst through the soil towards the sun. There is light on this pathway, and with the proper support, we bring opportunities for growth and learning. Care to join me on the journey? Reach out to set up a brief phone call to see if we’d be a good fit.
