Hi, I'm Kendra. I love being a therapist. It's not that it's always easy, but I enjoy the process of listening deeply and rolling up our sleeves together. Whatever is bringing you to therapy right now, I'm happy to meet you there. I work with modalities that help us understand the ways that our experiences show up in our bodies, minds, and relationships. This supports you in developing the tools, awareness and conviction to lead your healing and therapeutic process. I also use a neuroscience based understanding of the somatic/physiological experiences of being human, and an attachment based understanding of childhood development and adult relationships. My style is relational. This means that I don’t just listen and nod - I share what I’m thinking and how I’m understanding what you share with me. My approach is deeply informed by a framework of intersectional feminism, social justice, and critical race theory. Working as a therapist has only deepened my commitment to and understanding of justice and liberation. This is foundational to how I listen and understand the therapeutic process. I have worked in high schools, jails and prisons, sexual assault crisis centers, community agencies, and in private practice. It is an honor to work with people from many backgrounds as they engage in healing. We each start at different places in a healing process. We have different skills and needs. My commitment is to meeting you right where you are and developing this process with you. I work especially with Grief, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and ADHD. Topics that often come up in therapy include (and are most certainly not limited to): feeling on edge, feeling shut down, figuring out how to find/be in/get out of relationships, sex, sexuality, dating, gender, neurodivergence, formative childhood experiences, sadness, chronic pain, money, food, parents, parenting, climate disaster, pop culture, capitalism, intergenerational trauma, friendship, culture, and much more. For new clients, feel free to contact me to see if I have any openings, and we can schedule a free 15 minute consult to see if you want to move forward. My fee is $200 per session, and we can certainly use some of our time to figure out how to use your insurance if you so wish. INSURANCE! I use a service called Mentaya which helps you to submit for partial reimbursement through your insurance. You can check your out of network benefits here (doesn't apply to Kaiser): https://mentaya.com/checkbenefits/INGFAMILYTHERAPY I work with most clients on a weekly basis, but have a range of frequency including bi-weekly, monthly and as-needed. For established clients, the client portal allows you to book or cancel your appointments online.
