My approach is to help clients discover a sense of purpose and control by examining relationships, analyzing behavior patterns, and creating meaning. My approach is rooted in existentialism and is solution-focused without losing attunement to the impact of trauma on emotions and thoughts. I believe strongly in “giving power back” and helping clients regain control of their lives and choices using person-centered and solution-focused approaches, with specific expertise in supporting neurodivergent clients. I currently have a limited permit license to practice mental health counseling in New York State. I specialize in interpersonal skills and have extensive experience in crisis intervention and behavioral assessment addressing the co-occurrence of mental health and substance use disorders in a family-focused substance dependence program. I work with adolescents and adults dealing with endings and beginnings, including often overlooked experiences like the loss of a relationship, opportunity, and developing a sense of hope for the future.
