Introduction

Dr. Kleiman is committed to providing evidence-based care with a focus on obsessive-compulsive disorder, a range of anxiety-related disorders, perfectionism, and self-criticism. She has extensive training in exposure therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) for adults, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) for patients in outpatient and intensive outpatient settings. Dr. Kleiman received her Psy.D. in clinical and school psychology from Kean University. She completed her APA-accredited internship in the Adult CBT track at the Institute of Living in Hartford and her post-doctoral fellowship at Northwell Health’s OCD and Bipolar Centers. Dr. Kleiman’s research focuses on acceptance- and mindfulness-based interventions. She led a team in designing and sequencing a manual for compassion-focused ACT, which is currently being implemented and researched at Kean University. She has served as an adjunct professor in psychology at Kean University. Dr. Kleiman received her undergraduate degree in ethnomusicology from Barnard College. Dr. Kleiman is collaborative, genuine, and empathetic. Patients often express appreciation for how she integrates humor into sessions. Dr. Kleiman currently provides telehealth therapy services in NY state.
