Years ago, I visited Ghana where I was introduced to a symbol called the “Sankofa.” The Sankofa translates to “go back and fetch” and symbolizes the importance of looking to the past in order to reclaim lost strength and wisdom. As a therapist, this deeply resonates with me. Often, parts of our past can feel too painful or overwhelming to revisit. However, I’ve seen firsthand that even some of life’s most difficult experiences can become sources of strength, growth, and a deeper understanding of ourselves. I specialize in working with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and identity exploration. My approach is warm, collaborative, and incorporates evidence-based interventions that support meaningful change. With over 13 years of counseling experience, I view therapy as more than just a space to process experiences. I see it as an opportunity to reconnect with the parts of ourselves that may have been lost, hidden, or misunderstood along the way.
