Dr. Thomas' background includes working with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings (to include federal and state detention facilities, residential substance use disorder treatment facilities, community mental health, and school-based), conducting individual and group therapy; as well as comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations. She has previously served as the Health Services Program Manager for New Beginnings Juvenile Detention Facility under the District of Columbia’s Department of Youth and Rehabilitation Services (DYRS), as well as an adjunct professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Bowie State University, and Trinity Washington University-Washington, D.C. She has been conducting psychoeducational, comprehensive psychological, and clinical evaluations to children and adolescents in area charter schools for the past 15 years. In addition, she has also been conducting parental capacity and parental screening assessments to court ordered individuals involved in the criminal justice and social services systems for the past 15 years.
