Kim Anh Nguyen is a pre-licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University, specializing in Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology. Before becoming a therapist, Kim spent over 20 years as a Buddhist nun, deepening her understanding of mindfulness, compassion, and the healing process through study in Vietnam, Myanmar, and India. Kim works with teens and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, relationship challenges, domestic violence, and major life transitions. Her approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally responsive, integrating evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and compassion-focused therapy. As a Vietnamese immigrant, Kim understands the challenges of cultural adjustment, identity, and belonging. She welcomes clients from multicultural, immigrant, refugee, and BIPOC communities and honors each person’s unique values, beliefs, and lived experiences. Whether you prefer to explore spirituality in therapy or take a non-spiritual approach, Kim tailors treatment to your comfort and goals. Kim offers counseling in English and Vietnamese, with in-person and telehealth services throughout Colorado. Her goal is to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients can reconnect with their strengths, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change.
