Introduction

Hi, I’m Kim, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and the founder of The Rooted Self. I became a therapist because I have always been interested in understanding people beyond what is happening on the surface, how our experiences, relationships, thought patterns, and environments shape the way we see ourselves and navigate the world. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, relationship concerns, life transitions, identity and self-confidence challenges, and the effects of difficult or overwhelming experiences. I also enjoy working with couples who want to better understand their patterns, improve communication, and feel more connected within their relationship. My approach incorporates evidence-based treatments including CBT, ERP, ACT, mindfulness, attachment-based work, and EMDR, while recognizing that therapy should never feel one-size-fits-all. My goal is to create a space where you can be honest, curious, and comfortable being yourself. Together, we will look beyond simply managing symptoms to better understand the patterns underneath them, identify what may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical ways to create meaningful change. I believe therapy can help you build greater trust in yourself, become more flexible in how you respond to difficult thoughts and emotions, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and aligned with who you want to be. At The Rooted Self, therapy is about meeting you where you are while he
