Introduction

Kinshiro is an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (License #21296A) and received his MA in Christian Marriage Family and Individual Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He did his counseling internship at Bridgehaven Counseling Associates and gained experience working with minors, married couples, and individuals struggling with issues ranging from anxiety, depression, anger, and addiction. He is passionate about and committed to providing professional, clinically informed, ethical counseling services to anyone! As a son to immigrant parents and being raised in Miami, Florida, he has a particular interest in working with 2nd generation immigrants with issues such as racial identity. From an early age he had a deep interest in military service and emergency response with many of is career plans centering on these roles. Though he ended up pursuing a different career path, he enjoys working with men and women who work in emergency first response (LE, FD, EMS), front-line medical staff, and active and retired military personnel. He's also interested in helping men and women who are navigating and struggling at the intersection of Christian faith and issues of gender identity and sexual orientation. Kinshiro commonly utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Gottman Method, Family Systems Theory, mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy depending on the client's particular needs. He's a committed learner who is regularly exploring and seeking training to expand his ability to help people in need. Kinshiro sees clients in office and online* Monday through Friday. *Couples seeking counseling will be strongly encouraged to come in person for sessions or must be in the same room at the same time for online appointments. On his free time Kinshiro enjoys reading, napping, cooking, martial arts, playing music, watching and discussing movies, and occasionally gaming. Also, petting dogs and holding other people's babies.
